Service Credits

The remedy when an uptime promise is missed

The compensation mechanism in a service level agreement: if availability or response times fall below the committed level, the customer receives a credit against fees. Credits are usually the sole remedy and are capped at a share of the monthly fee, which makes them a service-quality incentive rather than real compensation for a serious outage.
